   The Kingston Springs Fire Department held its annual Banquet for the 2014 calendar year this evening, addressing the accomplishments of the Department and recognizing individual members for their service. "I'm extremely proud of the progress the Department has made in the past year and look forward to the next", Chief Ivey stated. The Command staff presented several awards this evening, recognizing the individual accomplishments of its members during the previous year. 

   During the course of 2014, two members obtained their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licenses and five members obtained their Emergency Medical Responder certification(s). "We continue to log over fifteen hundred hours of training annually, which says a lot about the dedication of the Department and its members", Captain Slanaker stated. 

   The Command Staff also promoted three members this evening. Former Sergeant Nathan Vetitoe was promoted to the rank of Captain and also received the "Chief's Choice Award" for 2014. Firefighters Nick Paschall and Roger Parker were promoted to the rank of Sergeant, who also received the "Officer's Choice Awards" for 2014. 

   Firefighter of the Year went to Simeon Fritz, who was among the two to obtain his EMT license in 2014. Firefighter John Ershek received "Most Training Hours", logging over sixty (60) individual hours in 2014. Firefighter Simeon Fritz responded to the most calls for service in 2014, subsequently receiving the Most Calls for Service Award. 

   Several members were recognized for their "Years of Service", with Engineer T.C. Swaggerty (30 Years), Sergeant C. Biggers (25 Years), Captain J. Vaughan (15 Years) and Sergeant N. Paschall (5 years).
